I remember the way the golden light shone through the trees in the Jubilee Creek forest as I stared up at them. They seemed impossibly tall through those eyes. The cold, soggy leaves had started to soak through my 'Chicks Rule" Nando's t-shirt.

If you were still for long enough, my Gran said, the fairies would come. So I stayed.

I grew bored, rolled over, and started studying the pale mushrooms next to me. "How small are these little blighters" I wondered, in my best dad-impression voice. Tinkerbell seemed pretty big, but we couldn't trust drawings in books. I'd have to take a photo and send it in to You Magazine, just for good measure. That was a particularly excellent pun and as I laugh-snorted, the fairies fled.

Today I relive the magic of that moment through photographs. 14 really crappy, motion-blurred photos on 200 speed film to be exact. As I pull them out of their far-from-glamorous plastic box, they quietly whisper back all these things I have long forgotten. Holding thEse images makes me feel the same anticipation of magic that I did all those years ago.

That skin-tingling feeling is what I want you to experience when you open your album years from now. You should remember how the early morning light tumbled into your room and kicked off an impossibly large day. A day filled with so many small memories that would otherwise be forgotten. Those photos will whisper memories that make you relive the feelings of genuine excitement, nervous anticipation. overwhelming, heart-skipping joy and deep, meaningful love.

Let's make magic together.
