I joined Klara and Pablo in Dordogne, France to photograph their wedding, and as we drove into the venue I simply sat there in awe. There are very few words to describe the beauty of Chateau de la Bourlie, and even fewer to describe the beauty of the Dordogne region of France. From red poppies creeping out from every crevice to fields of wheat and flowers, gorgeous rivers and open countryside; Stone houses built into cliffs and the most kind-hearted people.
We arrived at La Bourlie just before a thunderstorm rolled in (the theme of the wedding day too haha). The late evening silence of the countryside was only broken by laughter, and as we headed towards the barn I saw Klara’s smiling face and instantly knew this wedding was going to be simply amazing.
The amount of effort that Klara and Pablo went to for friends and family was incredible, and we could really see that guests felt appreciated. This is one of the things that often goes out of the window when planning a destination wedding because the logistics alone are so overwhelming. Guests flew in from all over the world and we honestly had such a blast with everyone!
If any of you are looking for an amazing venue for a chateau wedding, this is it. Lucy and the team were so kind to us and looked after our every need! I adore working with genuine, down to earth people, and the La Bourlie team are just that.
I am going to stop rambling and let you all see the incredible photos 🙂
